DISPLACEMENT// SPRING/SUMMER ‘14
This collection is underpinned by the concept of displacement;
"the action of moving something from its place or position"-(oxford dictionary)
I took visual research from the textured surfaced found under the sea; be this animals, plants or rocks. I was particularly interested in how thing are distorted through water. I translated this into my collection by embellishing through sheer layers looking at the embellishment forming the fabric instead of an addition to it.
I wanted to create a collection with a Sports Luxe aesthetic to it. After research i felt there was a real gap in the market for this and I want to show that embellishment can become part of this minimalistic style.
